R.C. (Due to securty concerns, we have removed pictures and changed names)
R.C. was born and raised in the country of Nepal and has a heart to help his people. He works in creative ways to fulfill that desire. R.C. literally saves lives by treking to remote regions to practice dentistry. With the nearest dentists and doctors often days away, an abcessed tooth can cause its suffering victim great pain and death. He has traveled to regions such as Mustang, once known as the "Forbidden Kingdom" where the elevations are well above 14,000 feet to teach, pray for people and to establish daycare centers for the hard working, yet very poor villagers. While the parents work, daycare workers educate the youngsters and teach them about a God who has a great love for them. He is often accompanied by his wife, who assists with dental and obstetrician or mid-wife duties.
R.C is at the forefront in fighting human trafficking and sexual slavery in this region of Asia. He helps rescue Nepalese women from brothels in India and returns them to Nepal where they receive medical check up's, a place to stay and much needed counseling. They teach job skills for those who are not able to return home. They provide preventative education and have begun to place surveillance stations at border crossings along the Nepal/India border to stop traffickers in the act!
R.C. is also working to raise the literacy rates in Nepal and has started several literacy classes. The goal is to empower women, who are not always educated in the rural areas, and help them learn to help themselves. By helping these women, families and communities are blessed. R.C. works with pastors and their congregations throughout Nepal and encourages them to be a part of the solution in helping their country with its many challenges.
R.C. and his family always seem to have people at their home! Two young sisters, whose father pastored in a remote region, came to live with R.C.'s family a couple of years ago. At that time, a group of men had chopped off this pastor's hands and feet leaving him unable to do almost anything. As the parents struggled with this tragedy, R.C. and his family took the girls into their home to raise. Later this man's wife left him so the older sister returned home to help her father. They have recently taken in another teenage girl to help raise. Their commitment to helping people and changing lives is incredible!
R.C. and his family do not receive a salary for their many labors but rely solely upon the Lord and the contributions of others for all their needs. If you would like to learn how to help with their support, please click HERE
