Why try PMI?

We often have people ask our staff the question "why did you choose to partner with PMI?"  We thought we'd try to answer this and other questions.

Brad, what does PMI provide for the Wards specifically?
PMI, through Dave Rogers and the board of directors offers pastoral care, ministry oversight, financial accountability and administrative/donor receipting to the Ward family.  The administrative/donor receipting functions are offered with an 8% administration fee thanks to our volunteer bookkeeper. The pastoral care is provided through Dave Rogers, who founded PMI mainly as a vehicle to answer God's call on his life to minister as a pastor to those working cross culturally.  The financial accountability and ministry oversight is provided by PMI's board of directors, who have personally met with us to understand our calling, ministry and to get to know us.

Our day to day ministry oversight will not change, as we continue to work under the same Honduran ministry and continue to answer to the same chain of authority there. Also, we will not be changing the amount of monthly salary we receive on the field.

Brad, what is the goal for PMI and the Wards?
The goal that PMI has for our family, as it relates to how PMI is part of that goal, is that we be equipped spiritually and logistically for the ministry God has prepared for us.  The goal for PMI is that it continues to refine it's ability to deliver logistical support and that, as God provides, expands it's partnerships with individuals engaged in cross cultural mission ministries.

Dave, what is the vision for PMI and how do the Wards fit into this vision?

Provision Ministries International exists for one purpose: to help promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ by providing resources for Christian projects.  PMI is an inter-denominational, evangelical, non-profit organization founded in 2007 that serves as a bridge between the resources and the need.

PMI staff travel to the frontiers of world evangelization to personally survey and evaluate Christian individuals and organizations we partner with to ensure they are effectively reaching people through creative projects and efforts. We look for partners who adhere to an evangelical faith, demonstrate financial accountability and show solid evidence of spiritual fruitfulness.  Our work includes, but is not limited to:

  • Investments in business ventures either locally and abroad that produce financial returns to fund religious projects within the communities or countries where the investment occurs.

  • Resources, training and financial support to religious projects, programs and indiciduals for the purposes of responding to the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of hurting people.  This includes, but is not limited to partnering with other organizations or individuals to meet our purposes; medical teams for primary care screenings and assistance and micro-business ventures.

  • Educational grants, loans and scholarships for those who would meet our specialized qualifications for religious training and education.

The Ward's can help PMI specifically through their gifting administratively and through their experience starting, building and operating an organization.

Dave, what will your involvement be in the Ward ministry?
I will be praying for them on a regular basis, communicating with them regularly to know their prayer needs and to assess their physical, emotional and spiritual condition.  My role is to be their cheerleader here at home and a shoulder they can lean on in the field.
