PMI is honored to partner with the Pallikonda family and Good Samaritan Mission (GSM) in India. Over 35 years ago both Prakash and his wife Kumari, felt the Lord call them to minister to the unreached people of rural India. Along with their children, James, Angel and Princy Grace, they focus on the lowest castes – people considered “less than human” by their society.
Today their ministry has 4 orphanages and 2 day care centers, caring over 250 abandoned orphan children; 2 Homes for destitute elderly people that house over 100 men and women; Leprosy Ministry; Home for Handicapped; Mercy ministry and medical ministry to the poor that help with the HIV/AID affected by providing for medical and financial needs. They also hold Pastor’s conferences and crusades reaching and teaching many church leaders and the unsaved. GSM provides water wells with safe drinking water for communities and a medical outreach that includes a mobile unit that travels 6 days a week to outlying villages throughout the state of Andhra Pradesh. A doctor and several nurses diagnose illnesses, administer medicine and refer individuals to local hospitals in dire situations.
Their “Red Light” ministry focuses on the fight against human trafficking and the effects on children. In one of the most concentrated areas of prostitution, housing and education is provided for children who have lost parents to HIV/AIDs and efforts are made to help victims of trafficking to start a new life. Flooding is also a part of life in India affecting millions of people. Often the poorest of the poor lose everything – what little they did have and are left with no shelter, food, clean water or clothing. GSM provides relief camps with the essentials to keep people healthy and alive. They also assist in the rebuilding of homes once the waters subside.
Provision Ministries International stands with our family in India and we’re excited to be a part of this great work. Our goals include bringing an awareness of the need and work in this region of the world and to provide funding for the ongoing work.
